New trade centre “Draudzība” is opened in Sarkandaugava
Riga, 11.08.2013. “Draudzība” shopping center was opened today in Sarkandaugava, on 32 Tilta street in a festive atmosphere, accompanied by Strauss’s music.
Several hundred people attended the opening ceremony. There are 15 stores in a trade centre, including “Rimi” network store. Property development enterprise “LNK PROPERTIES” invested around 2.5 million euros in the trade centre’s creation.
"It's pleasant to note that the reconstruction and improvement of the modern centre, drew attention of the residents of Sarkandaugava. Today, during the opening ceremony of the trade centre «Draudzība» a large number of buyers showed interest in participating in all the events - the guests participated in the instant lottery, were actively looking for the best deals and visited an exhibition of photographs," - the head of «LNK Properties» commercial real estate department shared his impression.
On the area of 1500 m2 of a trade centre following stores are located: “Rimi” network store, meat shops, a post office (automated postal terminal), pet store, cosmetics store, optics store, dry cleaning and others.
The exhibition "Sarkandaugava’s architectural gem in photographs" was also opened within the framework of this event, where visitors could give a look at the events of rich and long history of the building, starting from the 19th century.
The building in Sarkandaugava on 32 Tilta street was designed by one of the most famous Latvian architects - Konstantins Pekshens (1859-1928) for the needs of "Pavasaris" society. Exquisite architectural handwriting of K. Pekshens can be recognised in numerous buildings in the centre of Riga, including the "Berga Bazārs." Starting from 1956, the building was known to the inhabitants of Riga as a culture centre “Draudzība”.
